What kind of Yakuza game would you like to see?
14/2/2018, 4:00 pm
I'm making a series of threads in the New Members section, since it's empty other than the introduction thread.
Making question threads that are easy to interact with and have something to add to.
Whether it's a completely different setting, or different types of gameplay, what do you want to see a Yakuza game do?
A lot of people want a co-op Yakuza game, I think that would be interesting to see too. Personally I'd like to see a more proper mmo-like Yakuza game, where you can make your own gangs and families with other players and do various types of turf wars and such to keep your territory. It could see it having a sort of class system where you can choose a certain style your character uses and change it up the way you'd like it to make it different and more your own. It could span over all of the settings in Yakuza universe like Kamurocho, Sotenbori, Okinawa, so on and so forth.
What do you think, would you like to see something similar to that or do you have your own ideas? Please do share!

I would like to see a Yakuza Game that goes into the past back to the creation of Kamurocho and explaining why this town is so important. They could also show the creation of the Tojo clan and it's struggle to exist in it's first steps. A new Protagonist and a journey back into the past. That's one of the ideas I would like to see some day with Yakuza.
I still have other ideas I could think about but this is the one that came into my mind as soon as I saw this topic.

Another Idea I had is a Yakuza Game that has Majima as a Protagonist and tells his story from Yakuza 3-6 from the perspective of him. One problem with it would be that he spend many years in prison and wasn't as active as in Yakuza 0-2. But I thought it would be interesting how everything until Yakuza 5 happened from his perspective.
Another cool Idea would be if they release a spin off where they purely focus on Karaoke. Developing the minigame to the max, maybe with interaction possibilities kinda like Just Dance but more focused on the music itself or a Karaoke VR version together with your favourite Character from Yakuza. It would be awesome to stand next to them and sing songs, maybe interact with them and help them with their Problems like with Harukas Trust. I think especially this idea is pretty much possible. Kamurocho VR exploring or something like that could also be possible and very immersive.
The last idea is exactly what you already mentioned. A Yakuza coop game would be great for a change. The Yakuza Formula is great but they can try different things. I'm open for it since Kiryus Story came to an end after Yakuza 6 and it's like a new era for Yakuza with a new hero. The Main Games should keep it like it always has been but some exiting Spin Offs would be great.

Like Zeraslight, I would like a "Yakuza Origins" about the birth of Tojo Kaï. See Makoto Tojo the Shodaime and know how he unified clans of Kanto. Learn more about the Niidaime and his right arm status... For the playable character : Kazama and learn more about his dark past of hitman number one. Masaru Sera could be a good character with his counter style and learn more how he created the underground Nikkyo Consortium.
1985 is a important year too for a "Yakuza Origins 2". Learn more about the birth of Dojima Familly with Kazama and/or Shimano (a beast style) in playable characters. Learn more about Saejima, Majima and show Sohei Dojima under a better aspect of the time of his splendor.
I wish a Yakuza about Omi Alliance between Zero and the seconde opus. Learn more about the clans and play with Ryuji and how his adoptive father has taken the power after the war during Yakuza Zero.
With Yakuza Kiwami and Kiwami 2, it's not possible but an episode with Nishiki and Majima in playable characters would be great. Propose a feat of arms to Nishiki and learn more about Majima after flashback of Yakuza 5 and before Yakuza/Yakuza 2.
Finally, for a third historical episode I would like the period after World War II because many yakuza movies deal with this.
Sorry again to inflict my trash english but the passion for this saga is too strong

I think a game I would want a title following the early rivalry and career of Shintaro Kazama and Futoshi Shimano. Also some more insight between Shintaro and Joji's story and maybe more interaction between Shintaro, Kazuma, Akira, and Yumi while they were kids living in Sunshine. It could also give room to experiment with gameplay, it was quite clear that Kazama liked to use guns, as he was a hitman. Maybe it could be a spinoff more about managing a whole family under the Dojima umbrella, maybe more Metal Gear-like stealth game, since that is more Kazama's style. I dunno about having Shimano as a playable character or anything, in Kiwami he fights like Mr. Shakedown, so he would need a big update in terms of how he plays if that were a thing. It would give an excuse to have Kiryu in the game without him being the focus too, because we all love us some Kiryuuuu-chaaan.

For Kazama, I think Ishin! would be a good inspiration. He could be have three styles : guns, hand-to-hand and mixte. Joji would be a excellent guest and a good excuse to introduce the police. Yes, his links with orphans or maybe, learn more about Kiryu's parents. A sidestory of contracts... That's why I was thinking of two games for two key periods.
For Shimano, a style between Beast Style of Kiryu and Saejima's style. And Sera for a counter/rush style. Play Shimano would be interesting to control to play a real antihero
We have seven years between Zero and Yakuza for a new game with Kiryu. Maybe a story juste before he's tortured by Lau Ka Long.

I think if this were to happen realistically he would be playable like Majima is in Kiwami 2 where it's a small DLC thing.

Shimano could be very important to the birth of Dojima Familly, that's why I thought of him about "Yakuza Origins 2".Of course, I like so much three lieutenants from Zero but it's not realistic to see them again in another opus.
ps : what a pleasure to speculate with other fans !

https://www.dualshockers.com/yakuza-0-2-considered-shin-yakuza-details/
Yakuza 0-2 considered. It's a good information to see again Kiryu. Maybe Nishiki in playable character. With Shin and a new character to introduce and make fans accept
it may be hard to see him one day hoping that this is not an admission of failure of the new generation of Yakuza.
Wait and see.
